1. Stem cell treatment of soft tissue injuries |

Wellington Equine has the capability and expertise to perform arthroscopic surgery in most major equine joints. Besides removing chip fractures and osteochondritis (OCD) fragments, we are able to arthroscopically repair cystic bone lesions and resurface cartilage injuries in certain joints using stem cell-derived cartilage grafts. We also perform tendonoscopy of the digital tendon sheaths and carpal canal. Tenoscopic annular ligament resection is routinely performed in our practice as is endoscopic proximal check ligament desmotomy for superficial flexor tendon injuries. Arthroscopic and tenoscopic procedures are performed with a digital video camera attached to the arthroscope. Digital still pictures and video of each procedure are saved on computer. |
